Prince Minerals was formed in 2003 as a portfolio company of Palladium Equity Partners with the acquisition of The Prince Manufacturing Company. Founded in 1858 by Robert Prince, Prince Manufacturing developed into the leading supplier of colorants and additives to the North American brick industry. In 2005, Prince Minerals acquired American Minerals from Imerys SA, adding a range of complementary products to serve the foundry, glass, and refractory markets. Since then, we have grown substantially through both business development and strategic acquisitions. These include the 2006 acquisition of Tarmac Minerals and Materials, a major UK mineral processor and colorant supplier to the European brick industry, the 2007 acquisition of UK based Raw Material Solutions, and the 2008 acquisition of Belgium based Zircon Minerals & Chemicals, both major European suppliers of mineral sands. In June 2009, UK based Castle Colours Limited, also a leading supplier of colorants and additives for the European brick and tile markets joined the Prince Minerals group. March 2010 saw the acquisition of Refractory Materials International, Inc., the largest producer of ladle and furnace sands for the steel industry in North America. Later that year, Germany based Felix Kappler GmbH, a leading supplier of engobes & glazes to the European roofing tile and brick industry, was added to the Prince Minerals group. Most recently, in August 2011, Prince acquired IGC Technologies (igctechnologies.com), the largest producer of anti-veining agents for the global foundry industry. Today, Prince Minerals is a leading processor and value-added distributor of specialty minerals, raw materials, and additives with production and warehousing facilities across North America, Latin America, and Europe. Prince services a variety of markets and industries; our products enjoy widespread use in bricks, refractories, glass, ceramics, foundries, cement, steel, and numerous other industrial and agricultural applications.
